League Rules
Edenwold Soccer is part of the Triangle Area Youth Soccer Association (TAYSA). Other communities in TAYSA include Balgonie, McLean, Pilot Butte and White City/Emerald Park. In older age divisions, TAYSA joins with Regina North Zone and nearby communities to form a league.
TAYSA is a recreational league that seeks to teach basic soccer skills, while promoting fair play, teamwork and, most of all, fun for all involved.

Respect the Refs
Referees
Referees are an integral part of our sport and must be treated with respect at all times.
Keep in mind that our refs are young people doing the job to the best of their ability, and developing their skills along the way. Always treat the refs - in our community and away from home - as you would want your own children to be treated while developing their skills at their first job.
If you have a concern, please call or email the soccer coordinator after the game.

Number of Players
Crease In 6&U, 8&U and 10&U games Opponents may not enter the goalkeeper’s crease area at any time (including on the follow-through of a kick). This rule is to protect the young keeper. In all age divisions If a teammate deliberately passes the ball to the keeper in the crease, the keeper may only play it with his/her feet. Once the keeper leaves the crease area, they are considered another player and must use only their feet to contact the ball. Offside The offside rule applies beginning with the 12&U age divisions. Offside is an important concept to introduce at this age to prepare players for the older age divisions. Tournament rules will enforce offside in the 12&U age division, so teams will benefit from learning it through the season. |
Offside Position
A player is in an offside position if:
Offside Penalty A player in an offside position is only penalized if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of their teammates, he/she is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
